September Favorites

I can't believe another month has gone by and it is starting to get cold, the leaves are turning, and I am not sure I am ready for all of that! We have done some fun things this month like visiting Kayleb on the job, deer camp(with the good news being NO DEER for us!), and my 1st garden was a success(thanks to my dad that helped me out!). I would have put canning as one of those activities, but I just don't think it is that much fun. I had mucho tomatoes and squash and cucumbers and it was hard to find people to share them with because everyone has a garden around here and there is only so much you can pone off on the few neighbors that don't. All in all it was a good experience and learning all the process of canning them and freezing some was good for me too. Thanks Mom for your help with the canning! Thanks also to Grandma Lorene for letting me call her with all of my questions too! I ended up with 17 jars. Plenty! Here is the before and after shots of the tomatoes. You can't help but feel satisfied that you did it.

Kayleb was glad that we came to see him. The girls love books and so Kayleb got his turn to read them over and over. One of Miah's favorites is Dr. Seuss's "The Foot Book".

I love this pic of Miah because it is such a cheezer grin. They love to think they are so big and sit on the couch by themselves. They make me nervous and of course they have fallen off a few times.

Deer Camp 2009!

Mazie was sitting on her Papa's lap in the truck while we waited for the mighty hunter to hike down to the truck after a morning of hunting. Mazie thought it was so cool to sit up front with Grandpa and play with all the buttons.
Miah loved being next to the window driving back to camp. She loves the breeze blowing on her. We had beautiful weather, just perfect. Both of the girls fell asleep on the way back to camp.
Miah and Mazie just love their cousins and especially when they were willing to pull them around in their wagon. Kayden, Cole, and Tyler took good care of them!

Here's my cute family laying around in bed reading some books before it was time to get up.
Kayden and Mazie are "partners" as Kayden would say. Kayden was the only person Mazie wanted to be with.
Uncle Chad was trying to make friends so he gave Miah some licorice. It worked till he ran out of it thank goodness! I guess what is camping without red sticky messes on your face with dirt to top it off.
This is one of my favorites. They were eating dinner watching Elmo of course and they are just so stink'in cute!

Beautiful scenery!

August in a Nutshell

I can't believe how fast that August has come and gone. I have a hard time accepting that summer is over and that cold wet weather is on its way. I am not ready for the cold. Well August was a fun month, the girls had their first swim class. It was a mom and me class and thanks to Grandma Jeano and Grandma Walters we were able to pull it off. They were the screamers of the class and for the first few days were not convinced they were going to like it, but soon warmed up to it and for the most part it was fun. They hated back floats and Tiny Tim(a stupid song they would sing and do swim stuff to). I had to laugh because they would just call out a song and we were expected to sing it. The other moms didn't miss a beat and I was sitting there trying to follow along because a lot of the songs I had no clue. Oh well it was fun and the girls went all the way under twice and not because they wanted to. Also during this month Kayleb and I celebrated our 6th Anniversary. WOW! Yep six years and still going strong! We thought that we would take the day and go up the canyon and four-wheel and hike, so we left the girls with my parents for the day and went up the canyon. It was overcast and we road the wheeler up to Silver Lake Flat and was planning to hike up to Silver Lake. Just as we got off of the wheeler and walked around a bit it started to rain. Of course. Then it started to hail, so we got under some trees and then the hail got bigger and even being under our pine tree shelter we were getting pelted with hail. The hail then turned back to rain and we thought we would wait it out for a bit to see if it would pass. I looked up the trail and saw a river of water coming down the trail and thought if we were going to go we had better get started so we started the hike in the light rain. 15minutes later we were pulling out the rain gear and were back where we started. So once again we decided to wait a minute to see if it would let up so we could ride the wheeler back to the truck. The rain got heavier. By the time we reached the truck we were both soaked. We loaded up came home and took a shower and went to a movie. When we got out of the movie the sky was blue and hardly a cloud in the sky. Typical! We finished the day off with a ride around the Alpine loop and dinner at Goodwood. All in all it was a fun day of just hanging out with my best friend! I love you Kayleb! Thanks for putting up with me for 6yrs! Oh I almost forgot Miah is walking too! Two one year olds that are walking is definitely a challenge. Miah's walk is more of a waddle. She would bend her legs very much so she ends up waddling around. Mazie is running now and gets around very well. She always wants to go outside and pick up sticks and leaves and gather them in her hands and sometimes taste them. Miah sticks to the sidewalk or patio. She isn't too great on the grass and gets frustrated falling so much. They are so much fun right now and I love to play with them and they love me to read books. We got a gate for the downstairs so I can keep them down there. We had a breach of security when Miah figured out how to get past the toy barricade and then taught her sister how to as well and they both headed for the stairs. They love watching anything Sesame Street and anything with good songs. They love music and they love to dance. They are so big and learn new things everyday. Sometimes I just look at them and think about the past year and wonder how I even made it this far. Lots of help from above for sure! Well I have lots of pics so enjoy.Bathing Beauties!Graduated from swim class and having their first sucker. They loved it!And here is the happy couple 6yrs later. Old, fat, and happy! Notice the weather.Look at the weather now. This is the start and the finish of our hike.We went to the county fair and the girls loved going on this carny ride with Ryder as their driver. This one is for Daddy. We all know his love for construction equipment.Always making a mess!
Miah reading her favorite book.
This is one of my favorite pics. These are my little soccer girls. Lance got me some soccer uniforms when he went to Mexico and they finally fit and they look adorable in them. I had to put a flower in their hair so you would remember they are girls. So stink'in cute!
Grandpa Great celebrated his 83rd Birthday. We love you Grandpa!
Isn't their room for me too?
I came downstairs to check on the girls while I was getting ready and Mazie was down for the count. We are down to only one nap a day and sometimes it is too hard for Mazie to stay awake until after lunch. She falls asleep in her highchair a lot. If she can get a little power nap in she does fine.

Miah once again in the toy basket. I can't keep her out of there no matter how full it is she always has to become one of the toys.

Mazie sometimes gets in the toy basket, but when her sister wouldn't let her in she found another basket. Yes she needed help out of it. She was in there tight! Too cute!

I love these little gerrs!! They crack me up. I think every toy is on the floor.

This is video of Miah walking. I didn't get early footage of her walking, but she is better than this now. They wear me out!

1st Camping Trip

Yes we had our first camping trip! We went down to Escalante for our annual 24th of July trip. It was lots of fun. Loads of work, but it was all worth it! The weather was perfect and the fishing was good and the company was great! The girls did better than I thought. It took them a few days to get used to the sleeping arrangements and sharing a bed again, but all in all they did great. The girls are at that stage where they can't get around really on their own, but do not want to just be held, so we took the wagon that they got from their bday down and that was the most valuable thing we took! I would have even traded toilet paper for it. We put so many miles on that wagon, our camp ground was a dust bowl from all the laps we made around it. Mid week Teisha my cousin came down with her family and she was soooo helpful and pulled, pushed, and played with the girls whenever she could. She was a big help and I was very grateful she was willing to give me a break! Thanks Teish! My mom and dad had a bear sighting, at least so they say. The look that was on my mom's face assured me that she was telling the truth. I didn't catch the biggest fish this year, but I only got to fish a few times. Better luck next year! Our trailer worked good and Escalante was beautiful. I love it down there and this year it was so green and refreshing. I love breathing the mountain air and just relaxing outside and listening to the wind in the trees and the sound of the creek. I didn't get to hear as much of it as usual with the girls, but it was relaxing. The stars are so amazing when you get away from the city it is almost too much to take in. It was good to get home to all the things that make my life easier with twins, but it was tons of fun spending a whole week together as a family!

This is just a pit stop on our trip down. The girls got to sit up front and play with the radios and drive the truck and stay busy while Dad gases the truck up for the final stretch in our journey.

Putting up some shade. It was a team effort. We had camp set up in no time really and in no time the girls had already unpacked every single one of the toys we brought. The trailer floor was always covered with them. Mazie and Grandma walking around checking out the new surroundings. This was the first of many wagon rides!Kayleb made them a giant crib out of the table bed. It worked great and the girls actually were a comfort to each other at night. I was nervous how they would do in the same bed, but it all worked out. There was however lots of playing instead of napping, but at night it was good.We had to modify the trailer in a few ways to baby proof it. The crib was one and the door was another. Kayleb put up plexie glass and put a latch so the girls wouldn't fall out the door and on their face. They tested it out and made sure it held and it did. Great Job Dad!This is how one of our walks ended and I was grateful that it did. They look so sweet when they are asleep!Grandpa and Miah took a ride on the wheeler. Mazie didn't really like it and Miah really wasn't sure, but tried it a few times. She is more of the thrill seeker than Maze is.We made a trip to Pine Lake to do some fishing and to go for a ride. The fishing was a little disappointing, but it was a change. I had to snap a pic of Kayleb feeding the girls because that just never happens. It didn't last long I ended up feeding them right after I took the picture. I can't even get a break. Kayleb is too much of a softy and lets the girls push him around and so they always end up in a mess. Oh well at least he tried.
Here is Teisha my fabulous cousin that was so gracious and pulled the girls around endlessly in the wagon. She is such a cutie! Thanks again Teish!
Here are the three stooges! These three by the end of Friday were beyond filthy. I wish I would have thought and snapped a pic before their bath that night. They main thing is they had fun!
We of course went to the parade down in town and got loaded up on candy, frisbees, balls, otterpops, and all kinds of stuff. The parade is always so much fun to watch. Crazy people!

Mazie decided to go out into the road and get some candy of her own. She had fun just being free and walking around. The firetrucks scared her though so she came running back when they came. She is getting so big. Cute little stinker!

Miah loves to clap and dance to the Lions Club band. Cute little stinker too!
This was on the way home. They were playing peek-a-boo with me using their blankets and I could never get a pic of them doing it at the same time. Front facing car seats are a blessing! Thanks to all who made the trip so much fun!!

Two One Year Olds!

I can't believe it! My baby girls are ONE!!! I documented there whole day. I think they knew it was a special day and they wanted special birthday girl treatment. We had such a fun day! Grandma came over and helped frost cupcakes and get last minute party stuff done. Thanks Grandma Jeano!! It was so fun to have all the family join us on such a special milestone in Miah and Mazie's life. I know I couldn't have made it this far without help from all of them! So thanks to all that have helped me in anyway, I will never forget you!!! Enjoy the Birthday Pics!Good Morning Precious Gerrs!! Princess Mazie and Miah wore their tieras the whole night and didn't take them off or bug them at all. Mazie actually cried when I took hers off to get into her pjs that night. Little drama queens!
Daddy was helping them out with their gifts, but he was just opening them and setting them aside while the girls sat and watched him so I had to step in and help so that they could get a chance to open their own presents. They of course just wanted the paper and bows. I think everything they got makes noise! AHHHH!!
Grandma and Grandpa Walters gave them two things to ride on. A rocking horse and a wagon. The rocking horse was not liked much by the little cowgirls. Maybe it will have to grow on them. They can see it in the house when they eat and they point and talk to it, so we talk about it and what is says and try to make them feel good about it. I got the same reaction when I tryed it again. It may take a while to warm up to the horsey.

The cakes I made them was cuter in my mind then they turned out. They were good though and the girls got messy, but not bad. Miah got into a little more than Mazie, but they were cute!

This is how the birthday girls ended their party. A ride in their chariot. They love the wagon and all the other toys they got. They can stay busy for a lot longer now. The party was fun and I am so glad to all that came and am grateful for your generosity! Thanks!
Happy 1st Birthday Miah and Mazie!
