Catch Up!

Okay. I have been a big slacker lately so I will attempt to catch up. There is many pictures, but it is the best way to remember what has been going on at the Walters' residence.First of all let me start off by introducing you to Buddy, the newest member of the Walters Fam. He is a mix between a lab/basset hound and a terrier/cocker spaniel. He is a pretty dense dog as most of them are, but he is fun. The girls were very afraid of dogs so I decided to solve that very early and add another handful for myself and get a dog. This is a pic of when we first got him. He is a lot bigger now and the girls love him. He at first liked to bite the girls, but now he has moved to jumping so he wears a shock collar now and he is a well behaved dog with that on. He really is a sweet puppy and he is, I have to admit very cute!Next on the list is we got a swing set. After months of looking online on classifieds for a used one and looking in stores. We decided to get this one. It is very fun and the girls will have fun growing into it! Thanks Kayleb for giving us our own park in the backyard!!

We went to visit Kayleb at his job and got a tour of the water treatment plant that he has been working on for the past two years. It was very impressive and I never knew it takes so much to treat water. We had a great visit. The girls loved being with their daddy! It rained the whole time we were there and the girls loved puddle jumping and puddle dancing(Mazie). I got some great video of them dancing and jumping in the water. As you can see they got pretty soaked!Jeano, Jenny, Me, and all the kids rode the train up to the Gateway for a fun filled day of shopping. We were looking for a dress for Jeano to wear to the upcoming wedding. Well we ended up going in about 3 stores. We forgot some vital kid stuff and needed a grocery store and there is no such thing is downtown SL. So since we didn't have a car Jeano had to ride trax to a store and Jenny and I and the kids waited for her. We decided to go to lunch because the kids were getting hungry so we went up to the food court and of course there was a convention going on and we had to wait in line for an hour. Then Jeano returned from her adventure only to get stuck with all the 4 of the kids while I went to help Jenny get the food. After we ate the kids wanted to go to the water fountain so we took them. They had fun. Mazie led the way for Miah and Ryder. She wasn't scared. Pretty soon she was soaked and it was time to leave. We hopped back on the train for a crowded long ride home with very tired kids. And that about sums it up leaving out a lot of details. It is a good story to tell we sure do have a lot of those unfortunately. Anyway the kids were great for the circumstances and they loved the train!
Having a snack waiting for Grandma Jean.

Elder Todd Carlton has officially hit the one year mark this month. We are so proud and grateful for his service and love him so much! Miah loves to help say prayers at night and prays for Todd like she knows him. Always says "Miss You" in her prayers. One more year my brother!
I conned Kayleb into taking us to the carnival in PG to let the girls ride on a few rides. They loved the train and the car ride. They seem so big when you are sitting outside the fence waving at them. I mean they are almost 2!!!WOW!!
Of course the Round-Up is in town and we went to my favorite parade, the horse parade! The girls loved waving to all the rodeo queens and loved the little baby horses and ponies. When the American flag was coming we were trying to teach them to put their hand over their heart. Miah got it but Mazie didn't quite get it.

They of course loved the idea of people throwing candy to them too. Mazie was hording it, but later shared with her sister.

This is them waiting for the parade on the hottest day of the year!!!

Hair-cuts! They got a needed hair cut to even things up a bit. Mazie was on the verge of tears, but managed to bare through it. Miah thought is was cool. Thanks Aunt Jenny for cutting our hair!

The girls love to talk to Daddy on the phone. They look so big with it held up to their ear. I love these cute girls. Thanks to all the grandparents and cousins that take them off my hands when I am about ready to pull my hair out!!

I defeated one of my biggest fears. Making homemade bread. Yes I made these thanks to the help of an incredibly talented lady in my ward who showed me how. And yes it is whole wheat,no I didn't grind my own wheat that is the next project, yes it was edible, and a little on the heavy side, but delicious with some homemade strawberry jam! WhaaHoo!I don't have a picture, but my soccer team took the championship again for the third time. I scored a goal and it is so much fun playing. Thanks to Katie for letting me play on her team again. So all in all we have had a busy yet fun filled spring/summer so far and more round-up to come and the girls b-day is coming up. I can't believe they are going to be two! I have also this week taken away a sacred object from those almost two year olds. Yes, that is right I took away the BINKY!!! They were only using it for naps and bedtime for a long time. For some reason this week I just decided to take it away. There has been tears, but they sleep through the night and I couldn't ask for anything better! Big milestone for me almost more than them. I have been attached to that plug too. So farewell BINKY!

Sandbox Fun!

I just had to post a pic of the girls new sandbox! Kayleb built the girls an awesome sandbox and they love it! Thanks Daddy!! He has added benches to the sides and finished the cover with handles and everything so it doesn't become a popular place for the neighborhood cats.

Easter/Spring Break/Vacation

Well we have been busy around her the last several weeks. The girls have had lots of fun playing outside on the days that are nice and I enjoy getting out with them too. Easter weekend was full of egg hunts which they loved once they caught the vision that eggs meant candy! Miah got pretty serious about it and Mazie had her daddy helping her so she got double the rewards! The girls also looked extremely cute in their Easter dresses this year!Spring Break was a little on the cold side, but one of the days we went with Grandma Jeano, Jenny, Ryder, and Jaxon to the Farm at Thanksgiving Point and despite the wind it was fun. The girls favorite animal was the ducks. I think because they were a safe distance away from them and they got to feed them without being scared they would touch them. Yes my girls are afraid of animals. They love them but they are very afraid! I am working on getting rid of that fear. They had fun on the wagon and especially loved the Tractor that pulled us. I can't believe that Spring Break is over...bummer!Vacation to sunny St. George! It was great fun to take the girls down south and play in the sun and the water. Yes they are afraid of water too. Hopefully it is just a phase or something. Miah warmed up to the idea fast and liked being pulled around in her floatation device. Mazie just wanted to hold onto you for dear life, but also wanted you to pull her floatation device around even if she wouldn't get in it. Swim class for sure this year again. We have forgotten all we did last year. We also played on the playground they had at our hotel and they had a blast climbing and sliding. I got a little bit of a sunburn and it feels sooo good! I could have stayed and soaked in the sun a few more days, but the girls were so ready to come home and play in their new sandbox Kayleb built for them and sleep in their own bed and I was with them on that. Nothing beats your own bed! We also took them to see the Temple and the visitors center they have there. The St. George Temple is so gorgeous in the red setting down there. The girls had a good time looking at pictures of Jesus and smelling the pretty flowers on the grounds. We had lots of fun on our vacation and now we can relax for a few days at home together as a family and then back to the real world I guess. Thanks Kayleb for taking the time to be with us!!Kick'in it in the hotel room after a long day! This is as close as Mazie really wanted to get to her ladybug floaty. She looked so cute in her swimsuit though!Bathing beauty for sure! Such a cutie in her lily pad! This appears to be two reverent children at the Temple visitors center. Do not be fooled by these prayerful children! Stink'in cute!!!

Happy Birthday Kayleb!!

Happy Birthday Kayleb! I am so grateful to have such a great husband! He is a great dad and also my best friend! I know I am a day late with this post, but just needed to say Happy Birthday to this Old man! We love you Kayleb!!I put this picture in for a laugh. This is him right before they took me in to deliver the girls. Just makes me laugh! He is such a great dad from day one!

Good thing he has giant feet so the girls always have a seat.
We love you Kayleb!!

Spring!

I am so glad Spring is finally getting here. I am so ready for the warm weather. Miah and Mazie are definitely ready too! They are growing so fast. In the last few weeks I swear they have changed so much in the way they look and in the way they behave. They are still speaking their own language, but they are starting to put some English in there to help me out. Kayleb can't understand them like I can and I act as their translator when he is home. We have had lots of fun with the semi-warm weather. Every morning Mazie goes to the patio door and says, "Cold? Side?" and looks at me waiting for me to tell her if she is going to be able to play outside that day. They love getting down and dirty. They don't hesitate to go digg'in in the dirt. Kayleb has complained that they dig in all the bald spots on the lawn he has been trying to grow grass, so I said build them a sandbox. We got the lumber last week so Dad get to work! We had a great time with Kayden, Addie, and Cole for a few days while their parents were out of town. The girls love their cousins. Ryder even came one of the days and made it even better! For a few weeks out of the past month we have been sick. The girls got colds, bronchitis, and ear infections twice and we are praying we are done with that yucky stuff. Kayleb and I have also had our round of colds and are happy to be through with it! There has been so much of it going around. Anyway, I have been a slacker in blogging so I thought I would do a catch-up post of some random things we have done over the last few months. Lots of pictures. We don't have shovels so I got our the kitchen spoons for them and they have a ball!
We have done a lot of coloring on the indoor days of spring!

We did make it to the park and the girls had lots of fun sliding down the slide. We were the only ones with coats and hats on. One warmish day and all the kids are in shorts and sandals.

Miah liked to go down the slide laying down. Cute stinker!

Mazie absolutely loves her cousins Kayden and Cole. Kayden is so good to hold them and help them whenever. Mazie has got quite the look in this picture. They were just lounging watching Mickey Mouse or some cartoon.

We got camping chairs for the girls that are just their size. They love them!

Here is the whole crew at lunch and everyone is smiling. It's a Christmas miracle!

I love this face!

I love this face too!

Sweet Grandpa Great!

Grandpa Walters passed away today. He was truly one of the greatest examples of Christ that I have ever met. He would pray for all of his family by name daily and we truly were blessed not because we deserved it but because he did. He was always so in tune with the Spirit of the Lord and we were able to be taught great simple lessons by him that will be with us throughout our life. I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the knowledge that we will see him again. We love you Grandpa and will miss you so much!
